Guest Speaker: Geoff Winter

Geoff grew up in Hamilton and having seen his parents struggle financially decided he was going to make money. He left school and started shearing sheep.

At 21 he was offered a share milking job at Tokoroa with 80 cows. He worked very hard and by the time he was 30 he had his own farm with 400 cows on it and had just purchased a second farm.

Following the birth of their third child, his wife decided she had had enough of being married to this man who worked non-stop. This devastated Geoff. Although at 30 he was a great business success, his life was falling apart. He was suffering from severe depression, mood swings and contemplating suicide.
